The inspiration for the Sonoma Country House comes from the aesthetic appeal and simplicity of Craftsman style architecture combined with the need for environmental sustainability.  Influenced by the rich history of the early architecture on the Sonoma Coast, Sonoma Country Houses threads design concepts from early Japanese “Folk Houses” through the Craftsman bungalow.  Integrating energy efficient design and sustainable building practices, we have created an environment that has powerful emotional appeal and captures the enthusiasm of people everywhere.

The pole house, sitting lightly on the land, is very resilient to earthquakes and high winds associated with tropical storms, making it a very popular design in California and Hawaii. Our design delivers the value and efficiency of a pre-fabricated package with the elegance of a custom designed home. The vented clerestory windows at the ridge not only illuminate the living space but achieve natural climate control by creating a continuous flow of fresh air throughout the home.  The eaves over the veranda provide a comfortable open living space for all seasons.  The craftsmanship in the joinery and diversity of wood creates a warmth and openness ideally suited to a casual and soothing lifestyle.
